You Might Not Guess: I started college at age 16 after skipping two grades along the way, but never went back after my first year. Instead I "took 1 year off" and moved to Vail to decide on a major. 27 years later it is obvious I majored only in the mountains.
Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed Health

Read about it at Carbwire: http://www.carbwire.com/2007/09/28/t...yed_her_health

Kimkins cover girl Christin now says: "I was wrong...Kimkins is not the way to lose weight"
(Unfortunately, she was rushed to the emergency room recently with chest pain and suffers from heart complications.)

Christin posted a video message about all of this on her blog at: http://the-journey-on.blogspot.com/2...ideo-blog.html

I think this just about says it all..... I am saying a prayer now for Christin and all those like her.

I too am wishing for renewed health for all those adversely affected by the plan. Heart complications and other serious problems...frightening stuff.

Sadly, Christin isn't the only one facing VERY serious health issues... There is one other, that we have confirmed is facing a heart transplant... Her Dr is trying one last ditch treatment...

There are many others that are now seeking help, but the extent of what they are facing isn't known yet...

I know Christin, and I'm scared for her, after finding out what she is very possibly facing... I know many others and am just as scared for them...

Re: Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed He

I have been reading and following, and there are so many women who followed this woe for as little as 2 months and suffered ill consequences, such as loss of hair, heart issues are the most extreme I have seen.

Insiders who have been banned are now telling all, and the truth of the matter is that Kimmer encouraged and insisted that these people eat fewer and fewer calories. Most are now admitting that they were eating only 300-500 per day, and had been brainwashed that this was all they needed, because gastric by pass patients eat this way all the time.

It's so sad, I am praying for them all, and that the truth is soon revealed.

Re: Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed He

Oh, there's no doubt that when this hits the fan, you won't hear so much that the Kimkins diet is dangerous but that ALL low carb diets are dangerous, especially Atkins! There will be a kajillion stories about how Atkins is killing people.

I am so sorry to hear of those who are now paying big consequences due to their choice of WOE... but I have a few questions that I would love to hear their answers. On the cover, it said that Christin lost 100 lbs in 5 months... and that Kim lost 200 lbs in 11 months. That averages out to about 20 lbs per month... every month. How is that even possible unless one is seriously sick?? I lost 65 lbs in 7 months prior to being diagnosed with Stage III cancer. That works out to just over 9 lbs per month... and I was in so much pain that I would eat but couldn't eat much because it hurt to eat. We all know that cancer can cause great weight loss, to the point of being super unhealthy... but even still, I was averaging a 9 lbs/month loss and my doctors were super concerned (before they found out what the problem was). So how could someone lose 20 lbs/month and there weren't warning bells??

Yes, we ALL want some magical pill that we wake up and have lost all this excess weight... but we all know that doesn't exist. So when one has lost that much weight in that short of a time... is no one questioning this, especially the participants?? Or their doctors??

Ok... next question. I haven't read any of the Kimkins documentation... but are we thinking that the diet spells out what they can/can't eat and how much... yet nothing about health and what your body needs to survive and be healthy? That different people have different needs and how to know what your body needs?

Is the gal who is responsible for promoting this diet and collecting money for people who buy into it... is she protected from any legal action or might she be in big doo-doo now?

I'm thinking big doo doo. Even if she has disclaimers all over the place. Anyone can sue anyone else for any reason. If nothing else, she will have attorneys fees out the wazoo!

I asked her a while back, how her diet was different than Atkins. My answer? pay me $ and I'll tell you. Thats paraphrased of course but that was the gist of it. I backed away. I've got all the good help right here at TLC with folks I care about and trust.

Great to see you posting sweetie!

here's another thread on the kimkins controversy - http://www.cookingtlc.net/forums/showthread.php?t=12520
They approached me about becoming an affiliate but I knew better as soon as I looked at the website the first time and couldn't find any real info or help. In fact, that's when learnlowcarb.com's slogan became "Help - Not Hype" and I plan to do quite a lot to promote that site, very soon..... only way to combat the black eye to come!

Re: Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed He

I can answer most of your questions Cheryl, but I'm so beat. My parents are here, again, for the 3rd time in about 2 months...LOL

I can't say much, nothing really, but.... Ummmm.... Keep your eyes and ears open...

There's a lot of us working our tails off, and fingers to the bone to get her stopped, and to pay for what she has done..

I'm not convinced that there will be a lot of back lash for LC, over this... Some, a little maybe, but this is not a LC plan.. This is a low everything, and once you were on the inside, it became lower and lower, and you were 'advised' to use laxatives daily.. This is being made very clear to the laces that can do what needs to be done...

There's just so much, that certain types of people won't understand.. Maybe if you saw it happen with your own eyes... But to read about the ones who got so deep into it... Or to know them like I do... It's like trying to understand Jonestown.. Huh, how did those people come under the spell of Jim Jones.. It's the same thing.. He got them to drink the koolaid, and she gets them to cut out.....food...

Personally I can't blame the members.. It was/is a brainwashing going on there... Many of us have worked hard as well, to get them to see. So many have, but there's stil the de programming we have to do.. And they are delicate..

I need to stop now or I may never...LOL

Please keep the victims and the helpers in your thoughts and prayers... Everyone needs any extra you can spare...

Re: Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed He

Deb, maybe I was exagerating, but just a tad.. Seriously, these people come to her site, and most are so desperate, that they will do anything.. And she comes in and is all sweet and nice, then when they say they didn't lose a pound over night, she starts with the, you aren't being thruthful, you're cheating, you aren't strong enough.. Then the calories go down, the laxatives go in... They are made to feel very bad about themselves...

This is what has become known as the plan behind the plan..

We know she is really sanatizing her site , even more that she had.. The red dress womans pic is down, replaces by the People mag cover with Mary on it. .But she was forced to re word the blurb about how Mary lost her weight.. Her 'story' of how she did it, in 11 months is down..

Kiki! That was awesome! Thanks so much for posting it. I am glad to hear there will be another clip tonight. I can't wait to see it. When will Women's World do something about their part in this. That rag makes me sick anyway, with its weekly Best Diet Ever front pages.
I love seeing Heidi D. being confronted! Priceless!

This was a LONG time coming! A lot of us have worked hard to get the word out to all the proper places.. There is still a lot in the works..

We did notice that she must have bought a new wig and a new vehicle... Probably a lot of other nice new things as well...

Deb, I'm so happy you had a nice start to your day! Had you not seen the PI pictures a few weeks ago?

Yeah, Heidi is coming down!!!!

Re: Three Months Later, Woman's World Kimkins Success Christin Says Diet Destroyed He

Just came across this. It's an email to the Slamboard people from Heidi's ex husband or his current wife (not clear on that). Sounds like she has a long history of conning and taking advantage of people.

Quote:
This Slamboard comment appears to be from Kimmer (Heidi Diaz)’s ex-husband and/or his new wife. As Kimkins Exposed reports, Mr. and Mrs. Hector Diaz were made aware of the Kimkins scam last night:
I am writing to give you first-hand info regarding Kimmers aka Heidi Kimberly Miller Diaz. Yes, those photos are of her in front of her apartment. Yes, she is bald and doesn’t wear her wig at home. No, the photo of the woman in the red dress is not Heidi. Heidi is a 49-year-old mentally ill woman. She has served jail time for her cons in the past. This is just her latest (and most successful con) in a long string of evil behavior. She has used Brandon since he came to live with her last year. He was living with his father and step-mother because Heidi was deemed unfit to care for him. His father moved to Washington to get away from Heidi and her constant harrassment of his family. Brandon chose to stay with his mother in California. He is an innocent victim of this latest con. Heidi long ago ruined her credit and since Brandon has just turned 18, she now has access to his. Heidi has legally been on disability for mental illness since before Brandon was born. She has conned the IRS, the Social Security Administration, the foster care people, her own brother and anyone who will give her money. She has ripped off her ex-husband, impersonated his wife at their bank and many other scams. She made up an internet story years ago about how someone stole her Avon products and money from orders. She made this up along with a sad tale of being a single disabled mother, blah, blah and got people to give her money all while her district manager was sitting in the hospital with her young son who died of cancer. There was no theft. She has ripped off her older son, his girlfriend and anyone who crosses her path. She has been diagnosed as a dangerous sociopath (a criminal with no conscience), behavior Kimkins members are seeing now. She is smart enough to run a good con but then gets over-confident and messes up. Yes, the detective found incriminating evidence in her trash because she wasn’t smart enough to shred it. The photos took 6 days to obtain because she never left her apartment. She was on the computer for hours on end. When Brandon is home, she goes down in the apartment parking area and talks on her cell phone in her green van (yes, it’s hers). You need to quit giving her money and sympathy. She is evil. What kind of a mother chooses to cram her apartment full of foster boys in order to collect money for them but won’t raise her own son because he takes up space she needs for a paying customer? What kind of mother sends her son to school with notes filled with lies about missing school because she has “cancer treatments” when she was just too drunk to get up and get going? What kind of mother uses her son for her own monetary gain and risks his reputation and safety for her own greed? I know many of you don’t want to believe this is true but believe it! All of this Kimkins stuff just became known to me this evening. The only surprise is that this time, she really made some big money. Please call the Corona DA and stop her. She needs to go back to jail. She has no employees, that’s why she’s on the computer all the time. There is no overweight woman working for her and there is no one in a wheelchair. She works out of her two-story apartment, I would love to see a wheelchair go up those stairs! She is misusing her niece’s name (Vanessa Romero) as a “false” employee. She has no business giving diet advice. She has been obese for years and even had her stomach stapled years ago. She can’t manage her own weight, don’t let her tell you what to eat or belittle you. She is taking you all for a ride, I’m sorry but it’s true.

Yeah, Hector was contacted by phone a few weeks ago.. From what he says, it was Heidi that caused him and his new wife to move out of CA, to another state.. As soon as he found out about this, he left that message on the Slamboard.. There is so much more going on.. I hope it's over soon, I need a break and to get back to my actual life...

I couldn't tell this, but since it apparently has been leaked..

The woman in the red dress, that Heidi 'claimed' is her.. Well, ummm, this woman is dead...**Edit, we may have been given some false info.. The woman in red may have been found, alive...

Just like one of her success stories.. A friend of mine works in the toem, and has access to public records.. She was the one who discovered that one, about the success story..

See Deb, this is what has been going on, behind the closed doors of the site... It's since all been scrubbed clean, but there are screen shots.. A lot of us saw it.. Cut calories, take laxatives. fast, etc.. The plan behind the plan.. It's so many more people that were sucked in...

We hope that Chip is going to do what he says, and will continue to follow this.. Yesterday evening, many of us were madly emailing him with the fake after pics we were finding.. All from a Russian Bride/dating site.. Today even more were discovered to be fakes.. {Big shock, I know} 20 I think was the last count.. I'm going cross eyed from looking at all these women.. Some aren't exacly PG rated...LOL

And this evening an announcement was sent out, that the site is under new management.. Faked pics have been scrubbed of the site, fake success stories have been taken down. Even the bikini cald woman with Kimkins on her shirt is down.. Of course that could be becasue she was found to be the model on on of the Russion sites, and they just photoshopped the KK name onto the shirt...

So much going on..
